We’re offering a unique experience in which students get to code, test, and create their own apps in real-time using an easy-to-understand format. The best part about this program is that they’ll be able to save their created apps right to their (or your own) devices for play anywhere, anytime!
The apps in Unit 1 illustrate the use of 2D coordinates in graphics programming, as well as Bitsbox's fill, stamp, and text commands.
Introduces the use of placeholders for values and making code easier to change. The apps in Unit 2 illustrate the use of variables to store numbers, strings, booleans, and Bitsbox stamp objects. These projects also introduce the Bitsbox move, rotate, and size commands.
Introduces how to run code only if certain conditions are met. The apps in Unit 3 illustrate the use of if/else logic and the tap and drag functions to create interactive apps.
Introduces custom functions to make reusing code easier and shows how to use the Bitsbox repeat and delay commands.
Introduces how to repeat the same code to give the illusion of movement and shows how to use the Bitsbox hits and wrap commands.
Introduces how to have many things happening at once and shows how to use the Bitsbox find and forEach commands.
At Engineering For Kids of Central Pierce, we aim to make access to our programs equally available to kids from all socioeconomic backgrounds. An Engineering For Kids of Central Pierce Scholarship provides full financial support for one child to attend a 6-week program of after school classes. Applications are first come, first served and scholarships are limited. To apply, please check the box at the top left of this field and submit to us your Notice of Eligibility for Free or Reduced-Price Meals Program letter. You will receive a response to your application within one week.
